The Administration of IFDF

The Integrated Family Development Forum (IFDF) functions as the dynamic pastoral arm of the Congregation of the Holy Family’s family apostolate. Established in 1986 in Vadookara, Thrissur, IFDF was envisioned as a platform to coordinate and animate all family-centered initiatives across provinces. Its administration is guided and empowered by the Family Apostolate Training and Research Institute (FATRI), located in Velur, Thrissur.

FATRI serves as the central training, research, and formation institute for the family apostolate. It provides theological, psychological, and pastoral training to sisters and lay collaborators, ensuring that all IFDF activities are rooted in sound doctrine, compassionate care, and contextual relevance. FATRI also evaluates and refines the mission strategies of IFDF, aligning them with the evolving needs of families in today’s world.

Under the guidance of FATRI, the Integrated Family Development Forum (IFDF) operates through a well-structured framework, supported by the Direct Family Apostolate Units, which function as a three-tier system:
FATRI

serves as the foundational center of wisdom and formation, guiding the vision and nurturing the vitality of the family apostolate. It offers comprehensive theological, pastoral, and psychological training to equip those engaged in this sacred mission.

IFDF

Acts as the central coordinating body at the provincial level, ensuring cohesive planning, communication, and implementation of family-focused initiatives.

DFA

Direct Family Apostolate forms the grassroots foundation, reaching families directly through home visits, counseling, spiritual accompaniment, and community-based programs.
